Evesham Vale 10k and Fun Run

I wish to thank everyone who contributed towards a highly successful Evesham Vale 10k and ‘Subway Kids Fun Run’ this year. What a marvelous turnout of runners, despite the extreme rainfall the previous day, and rumours that the event had been cancelled.

I was personally overwhelmed by the wonderful atmosphere and the honor of knowing that ‘The Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust’ was this year’s nominated charity. The Event was extremely well organised by ‘Evesham Vale Running Club’ with further support given by ‘Birdseye Sports’, ‘Subway’ and local businesses.

The start of the race was a wonderful occasion. Evesham’s Mayor and Mayoress started the race together with former Olympic Swimmer Jo Deakins in attendance and with music performed by Shipston Town Band. With hundreds of runners pounding the streets and parks of Evesham it was a wonderful sight. I would also like to give a big thank you to Volunteer Marshals who did a great job in inspiring competitors to safely complete the course. All in all it was a truly memorable day - even the sun shone!  Sue Sollis
