This is Tony’s Story

Hi, my name is Tony and I am recovering from Cancer!
I have recently been in hospital for a month having a stem cell transplant. During my
time in hospital I had many blood tests, and whilst talking to the nurses I said that it
would be great if you could see the veins under the skin, to make taking blood easier
and more precise. To my surprise, the nurse said there is a portable machine that
has a screen similar to a large mobile that does this!

A Tribute to Derek Clive Wells

It is with much sadness that I learnt of the passing of Derek. A well known figure in Evesham who lived and breathed music. Derek inspired many young musicians, and the not so young, which includes me. All the time I have known Derek he has been a great inspiration, making music fun and challenging. It was his life.

Derek was a keen supporter of The Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust for many years. I will always remember, when on one especially bitterly cold winter’s day, he said, “let’s play carols for the Tracy Sollis Trust this evening”. He was not in the best of health at the time but was determined to stick it out in the freezing weather. It was only to be for half an hour, but approximately two hours later it was “come on let’s do one more”.

Thank you Derek for the pleasure, fun and support shared through your deep love of music. You will always be remembered with affection,
Sue Sollis
